We had a great time at our Pushing the Limits of Survival discussion last month, and we’re excited to invite you to join us again this month, as we discuss how we Push the Limits of Knowledge. First, we read either “Enemy Mine” by Barry Longyear, or the first 179 pages of “Clan of the Cave Bear” by Jean Auel. Both titles illustrate the ways that different groups, clans and even species can learn to share one another’s culture and history. Then, we’ll get together at the Library on Tuesday, March 28th at 6:00pm. We’ll enjoy sandwiches, salads and desserts, while we watch a short video interview with Jean Auel, and a short film about a chef who wants to preserve and revitalize culinary knowledge from the golden age of Southern Cuisine. Devin Dennie will be back to lead our discussion of knowledge and how we preserve and exchange it. It’s going to be a fascinating evening. Call the Piedmont Library to register, or come by the Library and pick up your free copy of either book. Pushing the Limits is funded by a grant from the National Science Foundation and the Califa group.
Thank you for all you do to support your library.
