Summer Reading 2023 is almost here!

Are you looking for creative ways to keep your family reading this summer? We have just the thing for you! During the months of June and July, we will hold library programs to entertain, educate, and encourage children to read. First step? Starting June 6th, pick up a paper reading log from the library. This is how you will “sign up” for the official reading challenge.

Reading Challenge

To participate in the reading challenge, you will need a paper log with stickers. These are provided at the library starting on June 6th. What is your goal? Read for 20 minutes every day, each week. At the end of the week, if you have accomplished this goal, you can present your log to a librarian for review. Then you will be able to choose something out of the Summer Reading Store. The store is full of trinkets, toys, and coupons for children to choose from. Ask a librarian for more information on the Adult Summer Reading challenge.

Summer Events

View the June calendar to see our list of events for summer reading. Most of our events are Tuesdays starting at 11am. Our kickoff event is on June 6th from 11am-2pm. We are celebrating Hispanic Heritage Day at the library. Folklorico dancers will perform on the outdoor stage from 11:30am-Noon.

Your local Piedmont library staff hopes to see you this summer!
